Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic)

The portfolio of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Kerri-Lee Krause, consists of divisions that support and collaborate with the Colleges and other units in delivering La Trobe’s Future Ready targets. We work across all four of the University’s strategic focus areas and are particularly instrumental in creating an outstanding student experience and enhancing student employability.

We take the lead in implementing a number of the University’s principal strategies and plans, including:

Centre for Higher Education Equity and Diversity Research (CHEEDR)

The Centre informs University strategies for improving the access and achievement levels of under-represented students. The Centre has a particular focus on students from low socio-economic status backgrounds, and has responsibility for the oversight and reporting of the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Programme (HEPPP)

Educational Partnerships and Quality (EPQ)

EPQ builds partnerships with other educational providers to create diverse educational opportunities for our students and enhance their learning experience. We also ensure that the University has robust processes in place to maintain and enhance the quality of its academic operations.

Indigenous Strategy and Education (ISE)

ISE builds strong partnerships with Indigenous communities in Victoria and further afield in order to increase the participation of Indigenous people in Higher Education and support them in their studies.

La Trobe International (LTI)

LTI contributes to the comprehensive internationalisation of La Trobe University. It is involved in the recruitment and support of onshore and offshore international students, the development of overseas study experiences for Australian students and support for partnerships with global universities and organisations that enhance our international reputation. LTI supports our inbound and outbound international students with a variety of services that contribute to a successful study experience and development of a global outlook.

La Trobe Learning and Teaching)

LTLT supports and assists our academic staff and managers in promoting effective, high quality student learning and academic success. We support student learning and participation from their first enrolment through to graduation through strategies that target student success, retention and satisfaction.

La Trobe University Library

Our library is a leading academic library delivering scholarly collections, expertise, and physical and virtual spaces to support learning and research. We provide extensive physical, digital and specialised collections for research and teaching, the tools and expert skills to find and use information effectively, and advice on managing research publications and data.

Student Success

Student Success supports students to connect to their study, community and career. We work in partnerships with students, the academy, and other La Trobe University service divisions, our community and industry to provide outstanding experiences that support student transitions across the student life cycle and beyond.

Public Scholarship

We build strong relationships with the broader community by communicating our success and expertise in research, teaching and learning through game-changing partnerships and engagement activities.
